Workshop 10
Educational Leadership

Using Data for School Improvement

Hours of Learning3 Hours
CategoryEducational Leadership

Move from collecting data to asking meaningful questions, identifying patterns, setting priorities, and making evidence-informed improvement decisions.

Overview

Schools generate significant amounts of information, but collecting data does not automatically lead to better decisions.

This workshop helps educational leaders approach data with purpose. Participants explore how different sources of evidence can be interpreted together to identify strengths, investigate challenges, establish priorities, and plan appropriate improvement actions.

Why Choose This Workshop?

Schools often have more data than they know how to use. This workshop shifts the focus from collecting additional information to asking better questions of existing evidence, helping leaders identify what matters, investigate issues more carefully, and make more informed improvement decisions.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify useful quantitative and qualitative sources of school data.
  • Develop meaningful questions before analyzing data.
  • Interpret data within its educational context.
  • Identify patterns, trends, strengths, and areas requiring further investigation.
  • Recognize common errors when interpreting educational data.
  • Translate findings into practical school-improvement priorities and actions.
